Author Guidelines
The Journal of Cardiometabolic Research and Public Health (JCRPH) publishes original, high-quality, and methodologically sound manuscripts that advance scholarly knowledge in cardiometabolic health and public health research. Authors are required to adhere strictly to the guidelines outlined below prior to submission.
1. Scope of the Journal
JCRPH welcomes submissions in cardiometabolic research, public health, epidemiology, preventive medicine, nutrition and metabolic sciences, non-communicable diseases, health systems, health policy, and related interdisciplinary fields. Manuscripts submitted to JCRPH must be original and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
2. Categories of Manuscripts
The journal considers the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Short Communications
- Case Reports
- Public Health Reports
3. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be written in clear, precise, and scholarly English and submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Submissions should include a title page, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and tables or figures where applicable. Authors are expected to follow the journal’s prescribed formatting and referencing style.
4. Plagiarism and Originality
All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism screening using Turnitin. A similarity index exceeding 20% is not acceptable. Manuscripts failing to meet this threshold may be rejected or returned to authors for revision.
5. Referencing Policy
Authors are strongly encouraged to cite indigenous and regionally relevant scholarship where appropriate. At least 70% of cited references should be drawn from publications issued within the last ten (10) years, except where older sources are clearly justified on scholarly grounds.
6. Peer Review Process
JCRPH employs a double-blind peer-review system to ensure impartiality and academic integrity. Editorial decisions are based on originality, relevance, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the discipline.
7. Open Access and Copyright
The journal operates under a fully Open Access publishing model in accordance with Creative Commons licensing. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication.
8. Article Processing Charges
The following fees apply:
- Review Fee: ₦10,000 (USD $15)
- Publication Fee: ₦40,000 (USD $60), payable only upon acceptance

Submissions sent via enquiry or personal email addresses will not be considered.
10. Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that all research involving human participants or animals complies with internationally recognized ethical standards. Evidence of ethical approval and declarations of conflict of interest must be provided where applicable.
