About the Journal

Láàńgbàsà is a peer-reviewed academic journal published annually by the Department of Linguistics, African and Asian Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, Nigeria. The journal is devoted to the publication of well-researched scholarly articles in Yorùbá studies.

Láàńgbàsà publishes original theoretical and empirical research through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and operates a fully Open Access publishing model under a Creative Commons license, thereby ensuring the free and equitable dissemination of knowledge. The journal is published twice yearly (June and December), with online editions released prior to print copies. All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to guarantee permanent accessibility and enhanced scholarly visibility.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm that their manuscripts comply with all of the following requirements. Submissions that fail to meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for correction:

• The submission has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
• The submission file is in Microsoft Word document format.
• Where available, URLs for references have been provided.
• The text is single-spaced, uses a 12-point font, employs italics rather than underlining (except for URL addresses), and all illustrations, figures, and tables are embedded within the text at the appropriate points rather than placed at the end.
• The text adheres strictly to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
